Shabana Azmi
Daughter of famous lyricist Kaifi Azmi and actress Shaukat, Shabana Azmi was launched into films after a through training in acting from the FTII. She began her career with Shyam Benegal in Ankur. In the early days she worked mostly in the art movies. Her regular presence in art films like Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Genesis, Ek Din Achanak, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai, Sparsh, Diya and Arth made her the most prominent art cinema star besides Smita Patil.
Shabana Azmi gave many good performance and with her acting talents created her own fan club. She dived in mainstream Hindi cinema with Amar Akbar Anthony, and Jwalamukhi. She later got marries to Javed Akhtar.
Well known actresses Tabu and Farah are Shabana's nieces.
Today, even after working in the industry for so
many years, Shabana has not lost her grace and charm and looks
the same as she used to look when Paarvarish was released.
